In accordance with Art. 28 (3) of Regulation (EU) 2017/459 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems (CAM NC), Bulgartransgaz EAD published on its website notices regarding launch of the binding phase of the incremental capacity process, jointly with the operators of Greece - DESFA S.A., of Romania - Transgaz S.A., as well as with ICGB AD.
The planned incremental capacity projects are a key part of the infrastructure needed for implementation of the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative. Their execution will ensure the necessary conditions for transport of additional natural gas quantities from south to north, improve the conditions for diversification and security of gas supplies and foster competition on the natural gas market in the region.
The Bulgarian gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz is among the initiators of the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, aimed at responding to the growing demand for liquefied natural gas from reliable sources, including the USA and the Caspian region, by expansion of the available gas transmission infrastructure.
By publication of the joint notices, the binding phase of the incremental capacity process has commenced.
The published documents contain the necessary information about the planned projects, the order of registration and participation in the binding phase, as well as the applicable deadlines.
The interested parties should submit their registration documents in compliance with the described requirements and deadlines according to the joint notices, the individual notices of Bulgartransgaz EAD and the information in the project proposals.
The joint notices can be found here.
