Minister Malinov: The agreement for the provision of clearing services between Balkan Gas Hub and KELER CCP will contribute to the development of the gas market in our country 

„The selection of a clearing house with experience in providing services for the EU natural gas markets is of key importance for the development of Balkan Gas Hub EAD as an organized exchange market in the Central and South-Eastern Europe region. The cooperation with the leading Hungarian clearing house KELER CCP will also have great added value in the implementation of the regional physical and market infrastructure projects. Including the implementation of the strategic Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, which will guarantee the energy security in the region of South-Eastern Europe“. This is what the Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov said during the signing of the agreement for the provision of clearing services between Balkan Gas Hub and the Hungarian clearing house KELER CCP. The Hungarian ambassador to our country took part in the event, H.E.  Miklos Boros, the Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD, Kiril Ravncachi, and the Executive Director of Balkan Gas Hub, Petya Ivanova.

According to Minister Malinov, the joint project for the clearing and settlement services on the Bulgarian market will contribute to the improvement in the functioning of the regional as market and minimization of the risks for the market participants. „The signing is the result of the successful involvement of KELER CCP in the public and transparent procedure announced by Balkan Gas Hub EAD for the selection of a supplier of clearing services for the market of Balkan Gas Hub, he underlined. Given the proven experience of KELER CCP and the direct connectivity of the gas markets of Hungary and Bulgaria, members of the BGH market will have the opportunity on favourable terms to participate in the markets of Bulgaria, Hungary and other countries of the region.
